I bet you’ve heard a lot about the power of the human mind and that the majority of your thoughts shapes your reality.
I was recently amazed to hear about two different experiences from acquaintances and I am going to share them with you. One is positive and the other one negative, but both indicate the mindset that one person has and the experience that she / he brings into existence. I will use imaginary names, just to protect their privacy.
First story is about Anne. She was such an outgoing person, made friends easily and had fruitful sociable life. At least until a certain point of time. We hardly ever see each other lately. Maybe once or twice in the last year.
Two weeks ago she had a horrible car accident, she was walking on one side of the street and a car moving very fast hit her from the back. Her medical condition is still very critical and doctors are not sure if she’s gonna make it.
We have a mutual friend that we’re both very close to and she shared with me that Anne was very depressed in the last couple of months, even at times declaring that she wanted to die.
We all have certain periods in life when things are not going so well, but that is not a reason to give up. I hope she didn’t truly mean what she was saying and I pray that God gives her a second chance and she finds happiness and fulfillment in life.
Second story is about Liz. She was pregnant and gave a birth to a beautiful baby boy. In a discussion she was commenting that she couldn’t understand the women that were afraid of the act of giving birth. She is very much aware of the power of positive thought and I can say I can learn very much from her.
She said she knew in advance that the day when her son will be born will be the best day in her life and she was focusing on the idea and the phenomenon that one life creates another. She was convinced that there’s no pain involved in the process only deep gratitude to God for letting her experience such a noble act. And so the experience was as she determined it will be.
The more we are aware of the fact that what we think and how we feel is crucial, the more we should put effort in creating positive thoughts and change our mindset altogether. That is the key for long, happy and joyful life!
