“All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast” ~John Gunther
From all variety of foods I’ve tasted, I must say authentic Mexican cuisine is pretty much different from anything I’ve tried anywhere I’ve been to before.
Choosing a dish from a menu in a restaurant for me was like gambling. Basic Spanish couldn’t help in the culinary temptations.
At times I felt like in one of those Indiana Jones movies where there is nothing suitable to eat for the picky lady.
After a few mismatches, I decided to change my attitude altogether.
I would rather take the challenge and search for something new and exciting instead of being a slave to the expectations of the food I am about to eat.
Since I’ve traveled many miles from home, I shouldn’t have expected the same food to be served else where.
When you change your mindset, it’s all a lot more easier… we went for tacos con chapulines (tacos with grasshoppers) on purpose and we enjoyed it. Actually we tried tacos with everything possible.
It is true – when you open yourself to the boundaries of the unknown, you’ve opened the door to another horizon and your senses are about to feel the difference.
